Odin (or Woden): the father and ruler of the Norse gods, and god of wisdom, poetry, farming, and war.
"Wednesday" is "Woden's Day."
Tales say he gave up one eye to gain wisdom.
He is the husband of the love goddess Frigg, after whom Friday was named.
