  • MEANING: on your side
  • EXAMPLE: If you get arrested, you need a good lawyer in your corner.

IDIOM: take off the gloves

  • MEANING: get serious about something
  • EXAMPLE: If we want to win the sales competition, we'll have to take off the gloves.

IDIOM: be saved by the bell

  • MEANING: win unexpectedly, at the last moment
