AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY
- Note: We often prefer proverbs that rhyme.
Meaning: If we eat healthy foods, we won't get sick.
- Modern science has proven what our ancestors knew: fruits and vegetables are good for us!
Mini-Dialogue: Jean sees her friend Paul eating an apple.
Jean: Hi, Paul.
Paul: Hi, Jean! Want an apple?
Jean: Sure! You know what they say: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."
Paul: Is that true?
Jean: Maybe not 100%. But eating more fruits and vegetables is healthier for you.
Paul: Do you eat a lot of fruits and vegetables?
Jean: Of course I do! I'm a vegetarian!
