ANY PORT IN A STORM
- This proverb is related to the sailing profession.
Meaning: If you have a problem, find a solution, even if it's not perfect.
- When there's a storm at sea, a ship needs shelter, even if the port it goes to isn't its final destination.
Mini-Dialogue: Patty is complaining about her new room.
Will: What's wrong with your new room?
Patty: I'm staying with my aunt while I go to school, and my bedroom is full of her old junk!
Will: That's too bad. But it's a free place to stay. "Any port in a storm."
Patty: What do you mean?
Will: You're a student, and rooms are expensive. You should be grateful for any help you can get.
Patty: Yeah, I guess you're right.
